Culturally Intentional Education for Secondary English Classrooms within Title I Schools.

We partner with 9th–12th grade, AP, and IB English programs in Title I schools to deliver literary professional learning, curriculum design, and classroom tools that combine the Science of Reading, the Science of Writing, and our Culturally Intentional Education (CIE) Framework.

Together, we help teachers design and develop rigorous, Culturally Intentional English curriculum and instruction that equips students to thrive in their coursework and beyond.

The Literature Lives in Their Voices.

When instruction is both rigorous and Culturally Intentional, students don’t just read; they see themselves, their futures, and their power in the texts.

Student Testimonials.

  • Whether it be through writing or works of art, I became a stronger communicator when sharing my perspective on the world around me. Overall, I wouldn't trade my experience [with this kind of learning] for the world.

  • Ms. Constance understood that Homer's The Odyssey might not resonate with us right away, so instead, she introduced us to something far more familiar - our own culture. Through the lens of Black writers and artists, she invited us to explore our culture, identity, and storytelling in a way that felt personal and powerful. I began to see literature not just as ancients texts or abstract analysis, but as a mirror to who I was and who I could become.

  • The time we took as a class to understand the literary devices used [in a novel] and the underlying themes of the story was difficult, but [it] built my capability to do the same with other works of art - especially classic Black literature. This class pushed me critically and has remained a foundation for how I understand literature today.
